This lesson is the last one on the topic “Health». I think there is nothing more important than health. When you are ill, you can’t be good at school or work well. When you are ill, you are not happy. So, the topic of our lesson is “Health is the greatest wealth”. How do you understand it? How can you translate it?

I hope you are all in good health.

Do you have a headache (a toothache, stomachache etc.)?

I’m glad that you are all in good health. Unfortunately, sometimes we feel ill. Now you will hear a dialogue (a conversation) between two friends. You will hear it twice and then you choose the right word on your papers. You can underline it or make a circle. Do you understand me? Now, please, listen to the recording.

Aleksey, I’d like you to be a doctor. Please, take that place. Ann, you’ll be a nurse, won’t you? All the rest will come here and answer the doctor’s questions.

Образовательные. З акрепить усвоенную лексику по теме « Здоровье»;

— обобщить правила употребления модальных глаголов must,should,

— практиковать учащихся во всех видах речевой деятельности.

Развивающие. Р азвивать мыслительную деятельность учащихся; умения анализировать и обобщать. Развивать и поддерживать интерес к предмету.

Воспитательные. Формировать у школьников навыки здорового образа жизни, подчеркнуть его значимость для человека.

Оборудование. Рисунки, иллюстрации по теме, творческие работы детей, тексты для индивидуальной дифференцированной работы, магнитофон с кассетой для аудирования.

Teacher: I am sure it is very important to be healthy. Health was valued greatly in all times and in all countries. People can buy different things but they can’t buy their health. You can’t be good at your studies or work well when you are ill. So the topic of our lesson is “Does health depend on you?” Children, will you read the epigraph to our lesson?

T: Good health. There is no question about it. To enjoy life you need to keep your body, mind and spirit strong. So today we shall speak about simple rules that help us to be healthy and strong.

Let us see how you know them.

Of course, physical exercises are very important in this sense.

It’s much better than the toys.

You can sledge and ski and skate

T: I’m glad that you know something about healthy way of life. But there are many other factors that influence our health.

  1. Read the text ( приложение 1. )”Good Health is Above Wealth”.
  2. Контроль понимания.Now translate the words into English: древние люди, здоровая жизнь, физические упражнения, хорошая еда, отсутствие плохих привычек, движение, водопровод, центральное отопление, удобное кресло, полезно для здоровья, загрязненные вода, воздух, земля; внутри, загрязнители, одежда, вычищенная в химчистке; пыльные ковры, испарения.
  3. Fill in necessary words:

6. Минутка здоровья. Исполняется песенка “Head and Shoulders”, сопровождаемая движениями.

7. Диалогическая речь. Составление диалогов по ситуациям.

— Son asks his mother where his insurance policy is. Mom wonders what the matter is. The boy has got a throat ache and needs to see the doctor.

— Two friends meet. One of them feels awful. The friend wonders what the matter is with him. He feels sorry about that and gives advice about consulting the doctor and home remedies. (Парная работа)

8. Закрепление грамматического материала.

T: There are different situations in life and children sometimes have accidents. Choose the remedies for these accidents and diseases. Give a piece of advice. Use should/shouldn’t, must/mustn’t. (Употребление придаточных условия)

P1: You look ill. Have you taken your temperature?

P 2: I don’t fell well. But my temperature is normal.

P 1: You have a cold. Why don’t you go to the doctor?

P 2: I’d like to, but I can’t. We have a test in maths.

Our motto is “Early to bed, early to rise keeps a man healthy, wealthy and wise”. In order to be healthy you should eat more fruit and vegetables.

You shouldn’t eat unfresh food.

You shouldn’t drink very cold water.

You shouldn’t eat a lot of sweets. They are not healthy for your teeth.

You should sleep 8 hours a day.

You should do morning exercises.

You should air your room 3-4 times a day.

Doctor Agapkin is our guest today.

I want to tell you about healthy and unhealthy food.

As you know chips, coca-cola, sweets are unhealthy food.

But fruit and vegetables, meat, milk, fish is good for our health.

1) Grapefruit helps to make your heart strong.

2) Cheese protects your teeth.

3) Green tea is good for your nerves.

4) Milk, cheese makes your bones strong.

5) Bananas are good for your mood.

  1. Carrot is good for your eyes.

7) Oranges are good when you are ill.

8) Apple is not only a tasty fruit. It is very good for our health. An apple a day keeps the doctor away.

Eat the right food and you will be healthy.

And now look through the text “Healthy habits”, underline these habits in the text, please!

Healthy habit number one: eat breakfast every morning. Children who eat breakfast usually do better at school! A good breakfast includes fruits, vegetables, and grains.

Healthy habit number two: eat fish. The American Health Association suggests eating fish two times each week.

Healthy habit number three: sleep enough. Poor sleep quality can affect our memory and learning. Experts advise seven hours of sleep a night.

Healthy habit number four: have a plan. So, the best way to be healthy is to make a plan.

Healthy habit number five: exercise. Exercise is very important for good health. Exercise helps people to think and move better. It gives people lots of energy!

Healthy habit number six: care of your teeth. Taking care of your teeth can add over six years to your life! So remember to wash, brush and clean between your teeth!

Healthy habit number seven : have a hobby. A hobby is something that you enjoy doing. Hobbies help people to relax and rest. Hobbies bring us joy. .

Healthy habit number eight : eat healthy between meals. Fruits and vegetables are a better choice. Remember an apple a day keeps the doctor away.

Healthy habit number nine: drink water. Water helps our bodies work right. Eight glasses of water a day does a body good!

Healthy habit number ten: take a walk every day.

Let’s name these habits!
